It is for the governing board of a school to decide, rules around appearance, what that should be and how the uniform should be sourced.
Our governors are proud that the current uniform promotes the identity, ethos and sense of belonging to Nanstallon School and its locality. We agree that uniform should set the tone and be practical for the education we provide.
We want school uniform to be affordable for parents and so we aim to:
- keep the use of branded items to a minimum;
- ensure that the uniform supplier arrangements give the highest priority to cost and value for money (including the quality and durability);
- regularly tender supply contracts;
- ensure that second-hand uniform items are advertised on Seesaw for parents to acquire.
The one requirement we do ask is that children wear the ‘Team Nanstallon’ hoodie for PE and sport.
We promote children wearing PE/Sport kit on PE days to save time changing and to support additional needs.
We are flexible on shoes and trainers because children spend much of their outdoor time running around and their shoes need to be practical and durable.
